Judith Smith

Judith R. Smith, 72, died on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Aristacare Health Service in State College. She was born in Bellefonte, the daughter of Elmer R. and Ester P. Smith, both deceased. She graduated from Bellefonte High School in 1962. Received her LPN License from Centre Co. Vo-Tech (CPI) in 1974 and an Associate’s Degree from Penn State in 1989. She believed in life-long education. She worked as a Hospice Nurse and Home Care Aide for various county agencies for several years. She also worked as a Residential Worker with the mentally challenged for six years. She had strong opinions and wrote numerous editorials. She loved family gatherings, animals, books and gardening. She was a Christian and a caregiver. Judith is survived by three sons; J. Scott Shuey (Marcia) of Bellefonte, Jeffrey D. Shuey (Shari) of Tyrone, Bryan J. Shuey (Stephanie) of Zion and one daughter, Elizabeth E. Isacco (Michael) of Boalsburg. She has three grandsons, Eric S. Shuey (Danielle) of Hedgesville West VA., Dale and Daniel Weaver of Zion and one grand-daughter, Amanda Lucas of Boalsburg. She has one sister, Pamela J. Smith of Bellefonte and one brother, Ronald R. Smith (Deborah) of Julian. She was preceded in death by one brother, Kim D. Smith. Friends will be received on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 11am-12pm at Wetzler Funeral Service Inc. in Bellefonte. Burial will be held at Advent Cemetery Milesburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wetzler Funeral Service Inc. at PO Box 7 Bellefonte, PA 16823.
