Audrey M. Carper, 91, Antis Township died early Tuesday morning November 8, 2016 at her home. She was born August 19, 1925 in Dean, daughter of the late Albert V. and Sara (Pike) Thompson. She married Arthur C. Carper on December 26, 1945 in Altoona and he preceded her in death on January 15, 1994. Surviving are three children, Buck (Donna) of Caldwell, Idaho, Cathy Miller of Antis Township and Les (Mike) Meinhart of Leicester, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Curt, Reid, and Colby Carper, Jason and Mandee Miller, and Paul Michael and Buk Meinhart; and eight great grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family, preceded in death by her eleven siblings. Audrey was a 1944 graduate of Altoona High School. She was employed at A&P, Grants and later retired as a cashier at IGA Foodliner, Bellwood. Audrey enjoyed bowling, doing puzzle books, watching hummingbirds and western television shows. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of her family at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township. The family suggests that contributions in her memory be made to American Heart Association.
