Bernadette B. “Bernie” Wertz, 92, Bellwood, died Saturday morning at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona. She was born in Bellwood, daughter of the late Ralph and Daisy (Burns) Isenberg. She was married to Robert E. Wertz; and he preceded her in death on June 8, 1973. Surviving are a son, Robert L. (Roxanne) Wertz of Antis Twp.; three grandchildren: Brian (Stephanie), Crystal, and Robert (Lisa) Wertz; four great-grandchildren: Aaron Hillard, Brandon, Devon, and Whitney; and a brother: Ralph (Patty) Isenberg of Altoona. She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Powers. Bernie was a beautician and owner of Bernie’s Beauty Shop, Bellwood for 40 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Bellwood. Bernie enjoyed reading and was a volunteer for “Meals on Wheels” for many years. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township. Arrangements are by Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc., Bellwood. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in Bernie’s memory be made to Bellwood-Antis Public Library.
