Beverly McIntire

Beverly J. (Burd) McIntire, 63, Altoona died Saturday evening at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh after a brief illness with Pulmonary Fibrosis. She was born in Neptune, NJ daughter of Alice M. (Cramer) Burd. She married Dennis McIntire on April 8, 1969 and he preceded her in death on April 5, 1970. Surviving are three daughters, Kimberly (Terry) Kuny of whom cared for her, Alice Dermendzin and Jennifer Musselman all of Altoona; 12 grandchildren, Brent, Zacharyia, Laura, Emily, Bryce, Alyson, Karlee, Haley, Ethan, Cayden, Adrianna and Peyton; her mother in Kentucky; 4 brothers, William (Cindy), Tracy (Donna) and Dennis (Pam) Burd all of Altoona and Arthur Burd in Kentucky; 4 sisters, Penny Lantz and Barbara Burd both of Altoona, Irene Focht of Bellwood and Patricia (Tracy) Lauderdale in Illinois; many nieces and nephews; her longtime companion, Philip Destefano; and also her beloved dog, Wendy. She was preceded in death by a son, Brian; a grandson, Terry Lee Kuny, Jr.; 2 brothers, Joseph and Ronald Burd; and a niece Beverly Yohn. Beverly was a private duty caregiver for many years and loved taking care of others. She had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone in need. She was a lifetime member of the Bavarian Aide Society, Altoona. She loved watching sports and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Penguin fan and also a Penn State fan. She enjoyed bowling, building puzzles and doing word search books. Beverly loved spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Friends will be received from 6-8pm Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 8pm Wednesday at the funeral home, the Rev. Norman Huff officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. In lieu of flowers contribution in her memory may be made to the family in care of her daughter, Kimberly.
