Charles Endress

Charles E. Endress, 86, Bellwood died Monday at Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. He was born in Bellwood son of the late Harry and Gretta (Miller) Endress. He married Janet R. Madara on January 17, 1953 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bellwood and she preceded him in death on Feb. 13, 2006. Surviving are a daughter, Melodi A. Endress of Tyrone; two sons, Michael A. and Mark A. (Janice) both of Bellwood; 7 grandchildren, Karrie Bonsell, Steven and Michael Colyer, Dave Endress, Sheri Noonan and Jill and Curt Endress; 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Richard of Bellwood; and two sisters, Helen Miller of Carlisle and Dorothy Smith of Blandburg. He was preceded in death by a son Miles A. on Oct. 6, 1978; two brothers, Harry and Melvin; and four sisters, Geraldine Klopp, Betty Burton, Evelyn Buchanan and Donna Reimert. He was a US Army veteran serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Charles retired as a union electrician for IBEW Local 5, Pittsburgh. He was a former member of Excelsior Fire Co. No. 1 Bellwood and a life member of Bellwood Sportsman’s Club. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting sports and woodworking. He loved baseball and coached local teams. Friends will be received from 6-8pm Thursday, April 2, 2015 and 10-11am Friday, April 3, 2015 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11am Friday at the funeral home, the Rev. Robert Kennedy officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Excelsior Fire Co. No. 1 Bellwood.
