Charles Woodley Obituary

Charles F. Woodley, 89 of Antis Township died Thursday, June 5, 2014. He was born in Hastings a son of the late Robert and Agnes (Yeager) Woodley. He married Barbara I. Heller on April 12, 1947 at St. Marks Catholic Church, Altoona. Surviving are his wife of 67 years; three sons, Charles D. in California, Barry A. of Altoona, and Curtis E. of Antis Township; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two sisters, Marg Young and Lenore Spade both of Altoona. He was preceded in death by an adopted daughter, Shirley Phillips DeCrisco in 2010. Charles was a US Navy veteran of World War II serving on the USS Sumter. He was awarded various medals including the Victory Medal, Asiatic- Pacific with 6 stars and Philippine Liberation with 2 stars. He retired as owner of Woodley Hauling. Charles was a member of American Legion Post 0827 Altoona. He enjoyed going on picnics and fishing.
