Cleova Wallace Obituary

Cleova June Wallace, 76, Curryville, formerly of Bellwood, died and went to be with the Lord Sunday morning at her home. She was born in Bellwood daughter of the late Mervin J. and Margaret M. (Woomer) Fortney. She married Glenn Edwin Wallace on November 7, 1955 and he preceded her in death on July 25, 2010. Surviving are four children, Terry Lee(Nancy) of Martinsburg, Sherry Louise (Rudy) Pavich of Curryville, Randy Scott (Tammy) of Huntingdon and Shawn Eric (Rae) of East Freedom; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; daughter in law, Laura Byler of Martinsburg; two brothers, Samuel T. Fortney of Allensville and Keith C. (Yolanda) Fortney of Helotes, Texas.; two sisters, Debra K. (Ronald) Nelson of Conway, South Carolina and Susan A. (John) Singler of New Boston, Michigan. She was preceded in death by son Alan Lynn on April 7, 2013; infant brother Alan Richard Fortney; and sister in law Patricia Fortney. She attended school in the Bellwood Antis School District and had lived in the Cove area for 37 years. Cleova was a member of Hillside Community Church Bellwood and had attended Martinsburg Church of God. She taught Sunday school and Bible school for many years. Cleova cared for children in the Fresh Air of New York program, and sponsored two children, Siripaporn and Janya, for many years through World Vision. Cleova enjoyed working puzzles, crocheting and reading her Bible, especially her favorite verse 2 Chronicles 7: 14. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8pm Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11am Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Hillside Community Church, Bellwood, with Pastor John Poe officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. The family suggests that contributions in Cleova’s memory be made to World Vision PO Box 9716 Federal Way, WA 98063 (worldvision.org)
