Cordelia Fisher

Cordelia H. “Corrie” Fisher, 59 Antis Township went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday afternoon at Valley View Health & Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness. She was born in Pittsfield, Mass., daughter of the late C. Benjamin and Etta (Dishong) Foy. She married Robert W. Fisher on August 18, 1979 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bedford. Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Jessica L. of Tipton; a brother, W. Benjamin Foy of Murrysville; and two sisters, Elizabeth Foy of Lebanon and Christina (Duane) Gerlach of Carlisle. Corrie was a 1973 graduate of Everett High School and a 1977 graduate of Juniata College. She retired in 2008 as a biology and microbiology teacher at Bellwood -Antis School District after 30 years of service. She was also a member of the staff at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. Corrie was a member of Hillside Community Church, Bellwood. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, bicycling, feeding and watching the birds at her home and was an avid reader. Friends will be received from 1-4 & 6-9pm Monday, March 23, 2015 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11am Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Hillside Community Church, Bellwood, with Pastor Ken Beichler officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. The family suggests that contributions in memory of Corrie be made to Bellwood-Antis High School Scholarship Fund for a scholarship to be established in her name.
