Daniel R. Davinsizer, 70, Mechanicsville, Va., formerly of Bellwood, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 8, 1950, son of Betty J. (McFalls) and the late John R. “Jack” Davinsizer, Sr., who preceded him in death on January 21, 2001. On August 19, 1972, in Bellwood, he married Nancy Foust, whom he met and fell in love with in the sixth grade. Surviving are his beloved wife of 48 years and best friend, Nancy; two daughters, Deanna (Matt) Garr and Krista (Mike) Cogan. He was the proud and loving grandfather of three grandsons, Tyler and Zachary Garr and Daniel Cogan; also surviving are his mother; four siblings, Jack (Gaylee) Davinsizer, Deb (Daryl) Kerns, Alan (Terri) Davinsizer, and Lynne Rosario; and three nephews and six nieces. Dan was a 1969 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School and attended Williamsport Trade School. He retired as a shift supervisor at PPG Industries, Tipton after 35 years of service. He also served in the National Guard. Dan enjoyed spending time at the beach with his family. One of his favorite past times was watching and cheering on his grandsons, Tyler and Zachary, at their sporting events. Dan and his grandson, Daniel, spent many wonderful hours together doing construction projects in the garage, and they also shared a love of cars. He also enjoyed attending Penn State football games and tailgating with his friends, and playing scratch off lottery tickets. Dan always had a smile on his face and was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Due to Covid restrictions, a celebration of Dan’s life will be held at a later date.
