Donald Moore

Donald L. Moore, 71, Antis Township died early Monday morning at GoldenLiving Center-Hillview, Altoona. He was born in Bellwood son of the late Donald F. and Elda Mae (Barley) Moore. Surviving are his longtime companion, Roxanne Wicks; a son, Donald L. (Wendy) of Bellwood; three daughters, Beth Smyder and Jolene Young both of Altoona, and Susan Moore of Bellwood; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; four sisters, Joline Clark of Columbia, Md., Faye Gill of Altoona, Nancy Trimble of Surprise, Az., and Helen Miller of Bellwood; and a brother, David Moore of Buffalo, New York. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene. He was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. Donald retired as a maintenance technician at PPG Industries, Tipton. He was a lifetime member of the Bellwood VFW and FOE. Donald enjoyed caring for his horses, gardening, music and playing his guitar. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family, Rev. Alan Thomas officiating. Interment with military honors will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. The family suggests that contributions in Donald’s memory be made to Wounded Warriors Project.
