Esther Potter

Esther Joanne Potter, 84, Antis Township, died Monday evening August 20, 2018 at UPMC Altoona. She was born September 9, 1933 in Philipsburg daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Smerick) Pavlick. On Oct. 13, 1956 she married Robert L. Potter in Towson, Md. and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1987. Surviving are four daughters, Victoria A. (Rod) Hamer of Pinecroft, Joanne Potter of Antis Township, Ellen Hunter of Altoona and Karen S. Walker of Long Wood, Fla.; a son, Rob L. Potter of Antis Township; and six grandchildren, Roger Hamer, Nicole and Jennifer Hunter, Alison Walker and Phoebe and Beau Potter. Esther was the last of her immediate family. She was preceded by eleven siblings, Charles, Michael, George, William, and Theresa Pavlick, Margaret Eberwein, Mary Bennett, Catherine Sandy, Rosella Lombardo, Frances Albert and Anna Twoey. She was a graduate of Philipsburg High School and retired as a clerk at Sheetz, Bellwood. Esther was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellwood. She enjoyed playing Scrabble and making Sunday dinners for her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Friends will be received from 4-7pm Friday, August 24, 2018 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood where a vigil will also be held. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellwood, the Rev. Alan Thomas, celebrant. A private committal service will be held at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
