Ethel Guyer Obituary

Ethel E. Guyer, 92, Altoona formerly of Bellwood died late Saturday evening at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Bellwood daughter of the late James M., Jr. and May E. (Longnecker) Hoffer. She married George H. Guyer on March 9, 1944 in Baltimore, Md. and he preceded her in death on May 2, 1989. Surviving are two sons, J. Dennis (Karen) of Greencastle and Todd A. (Connie) of Bellwood; a daughter, Gena A. (Gary) Burkholder of Altoona; five grandchildren, Mindy Busher, Shelby Hite, Tara Martin, Jeremy Guyer and Megan Carter; and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and five sisters. Ethel retired as a time keeper at Veeder-Root after 18 years of service. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bellwood and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. A funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood, Rev. Talbot-Moses officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township. The family suggests that contributions in Ethel’s memory be made to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bellwood.
