Eva Shaffer

Eva Shaffer, 97, Fallentimber died Thursday afternoon at Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield. She was born in Madera daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Howshoski) Russin. She married Blair J. Shaffer on Nov. 19, 1938 in Cumberland, Md. and he preceded her in death on August 15, 1975. Surviving are a son, David B. (Gloria) of Houtzdale; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Bob) White of Buckhannon, WV; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Russin of White Oak and Ann Parascak of Tonawanda, NY. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles R. Shaffer; brothers, Charles, George, Frank, John and Metro; and sister, Mary Russin. Eva was a member of St. Michael Orthodox Church, Irvona. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8pm Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood with Panachida at 7:30pm. A funeral service will be held at 11am Monday, June 1, 2015 at St. Michael Orthodox Church, Irvona by Father David Lewis. Committal will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow. The family suggests that contribution in Eva’s memory be made to St. Michael Orthodox Church, Irvona.
