Jerry Taylor Obituary

Jerry G. “Jug Head” Taylor, 58, Tipton, passed away at his home Tuesday, May 24, 2016 due to complications from his diabetes. He was born in Altoona son of the late Forrest A. and Jeanne L. (Casher) Taylor. Surviving are; four sisters, Margaret (Nathan) Burns of Bellwood, Lucinda Zindel of Tipton, Mary Ann (Larry) Russell of Wadsworth, Ohio and Virginia (Tom) Graves of New Holland; two brothers, John K. of Tyrone and Charles W. (Kathleen) of Tipton; a sister in law, Lola Harris of Montoursville; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James R. and infant Joseph; a sister in law, Rose Taylor; and a brother in law, John Zindel. Jerry graduated from Bellwood-Antis High School in 1975 where he excelled in football and received numerous awards including the prestigious V.F.W B-A Football Blanket. During his senior year he scored the most touchdowns in Blair County. Jerry also attended Altoona Vo-Tech where he trained as a machinist, later changing his vocation to carpentry, becoming a master craftsman until his retirement in 2014. He enjoyed traveling, games of chance, golfing, fishing, all sports, flying and staying active. His greatest passion was having fun, and anyone with him was also having fun. Having a good time was what he was all about. His memory will live in our hearts forever. Friends will be received from 1-4pm Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 4pm Thursday at the funeral home, Rev. Alan Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Philipsburg Cemetery.
