John Beaston

John F. Beaston, 80 of Tyrone died late Sunday evening February 26, 2017 at Golden Living Center-Hillview, Altoona. He was born November 11, 1936 in Tyrone son of the late John Irvin and Almeda (Cupp) Beaston. On December 28, 1963 he married Shirley A. Barone at Evangelical United Brethren Church Tyrone. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years; and a brother in law, Dennis Barone and his wife, Gayleen of Ocala, Florida. John served in the US Army from 1955-’58 and retired as a machinist at WestVaco, Tyrone. He was a member of the Evergreen Hunting Camp, Spring Mount and a life member of Hookies Fire Company, Tyrone. John was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting. He was an extremely talented woodworker and carpenter who created and built many beautiful projects. He was of the protestant faith. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of his family. Inurnment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in his memory be made to a church of individual choice.
