Mardell Grossman

Mardell H. Grossman, 90, Mountaindale, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday morning at her home. She was born in Mountaindale daughter of the late Austin and Jennie (Lovell) Eakins. She married the Reverend Robert D. Grossman on June 12, 1948 in Scranton and served in his ministry for over 60 years. Surviving are her husband; two sons, Robert H. (Susan) and Rev. George C. (Sandra) Grossman both of Jersey Shore; a daughter Judith A. (Bradley) Turnbaugh of Mountaindale; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton Eakins. Mardell was a former school teacher and retired as the organist at First Baptist Church, Altoona. She was a member of Mountaindale Baptist Church where she served as church organist. She gave piano, organ and guitar lessons and enjoyed flower gardening. Friends will be received from 9-11am Friday, February 20, 2015 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11am Friday at the funeral home, Pastor Ben Warfel officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.
