Mark A. Vandevander, 58, Altoona died early Thursday morning at James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona. He was born in Altoona son of Elizabeth (Shaner) and the late Leonard B. Vandevander. Surviving are a son, Doug M. (Tabitha) of New Port Richey, Florida; a daughter, Chanda R. (David) Heisler of Tipton; four grandchildren, Braden, Lauren, Kate and Allison Heisler; his mother of Bellwood; two brothers, Gary L. (Kathy) of Altoona and Dennis J. (Robin) of Bellwood; and several nieces and nephews. Mark was formerly employed at PPG Industries, Tipton and was employed as a network technician at Communications Test Design, Inc., West Chester. He was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Bellwood. Mark was an artist and handyman and enjoyed woodworking. He was an avid Penn State and Steeler fan. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8pm, Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11am Monday, January 12, 2015 at the funeral home, Rev. Robert Stump officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. The family suggests that contributions in Mark’s memory be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Bellwood.
