Mary Steinbauer Obituary

M. Jean Steinbauer, 89, Bellwood died Wednesday at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg. She was born in Bellwood daughter of the late Clyde A. and Eliza (Mullhollen) Shrom. She married Leo P. Steinbauer on November 5, 1949 in Altoona and he preceded her in death on October 20, 1986. Surviving are a son, James P. of Bellwood; a daughter, Nancy J. Hite of Tipton; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Melani, Justin and Adam Hite; a sister, Ruth Philips of Bellmeade; nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank M. Shrom. Jean was a 1943 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School. She was an active member of Faith Bible Church where she played the piano and organ. She was previously employed as a secretary at Ward Trucking, Altoona and later retired as secretary at Bellwood-Antis School District. She enjoyed teaching piano, crocheting, sewing and gathering with her classmates, the “43 Girls”. Jean especially loved her grandchildren and family. Friends will be received from 6-8PM, Friday, September 26, 2014 and 10 until the 11 am funeral service on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood, Pastor Ben Hoover officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township. The family suggests that contributions in Jean’s memory be made to Faith Bible Church.
