Mildred Estep

Mildred A. Estep, 95, Altoona, formerly of Bellwood died Wednesday morning at Hillview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Altoona. She was born in Berwick daughter of the late William A. and Julia L. (Parks) Roub. On Oct. 24, 1938 she married Melvin C. Estep in Bellwood and he preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 1975. Surviving are two sons, Barry L. of Walden, New York and Melvin C. “Butch”, Jr. (Diane) of Antis Township; two daughters, Beverly (Jerry) Long of Brookville and Barbara K. Rupert of Altoona; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph Roub of Altoona. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Charles; three sisters, Eva J. Noel, Adaline Villani and Anna Sneath; a daughter in law, Patty Estep; and a son in law, John C. “Dewey” Rupert, Jr. Mildred retired in 1990 as a clerk at Cornmesser’s Hardware, Bellwood after 11 years of service and she was formerly employed at Gable’s Dept. Store Altoona for fifteen years. She was a member of Covenant Community Church, Bellwood where she served as president of her Sunday school class. She enjoyed reading her Bible. Friends will be received from 2-4pm Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11am Monday, January 22, 2018 at Covenant Community Church Bellwood, Pastor Bob Strobel and Pastor Jerry Sneath officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township. The family suggests that contributions in Mildred’s memory be made to Covenant Community Church, Bellwood.
