Paul Daniel “Bud” Wertz, 85, Tipton died Saturday evening at Hershey Medical Center. He was born in Tyrone son of the late Frank E. and Virginia (Lehner) Wertz. On Sept. 18, 1959 he married Dorothy A. Dry in Newton Hamilton. Surviving are his wife; a son, Michael T. (Kathy) of Gibsonia; a daughter, LuAnn (Lynn) Shaffer of Altoona; two grandchildren, Krystal Brooks and Joshua Wertz; two great grandchildren, Hannah and Oliver Brooks; and a sister, Patricia Holt of Media. He was preceded in death by twin sons, Kurt and Kevin; two sisters; and a brother. Bud was a 1950 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School and a US Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a line operator at PPG Industries, Tipton. Bud attended Tipton Baptist Church and enjoyed attending all Bellwood Antis sports and athletic events. Friends will be received from 11am-2pm, Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Tipton Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at 2pm Saturday at the church, Pastor Tim Allen officiating. The family suggests that contributions in Bud’s memory be made to Tipton Baptist Church.
