Phyllis M. Burkholder, 85, Tipton died Thursday evening at Epworth Manor, Tyrone. She was born in Tipton daughter of the late Chester and Edna Mae (Cherry) McClellan. She married Guy V. Burkholder on August 14, 1948 in Winchester, VA. Surviving are her husband of 66 years; a son, Jerry L. (Susan M.) of Tyrone; a daughter, Pamela S. (W. Franklin) Moore of Carlisle; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a brother, Charles McClellan of Florida. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester R. and Donald C.; and a sister, Dorothy Whitesel. Phyllis was a lifetime member of Tipton United Methodist Church where she served as communion steward and on the administrative board. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting. Friends will be received from 6-8pm Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood . A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of her family at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions in Phyllis memory be made to a charity of individual choice.
