Phyllis E. Smith, 86, of Bellwood died Tuesday morning July 26, 2016 at UPMC Altoona. She was born February 25, 1930 in Bellwood daughter of the late John B. Sr. and Viola V. (Hostler) Glasgow. She married Albert F. Smith and he preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons, Ronald and Greg both of North Carolina; two daughters, Nancy Allen and Melissa Thompson both of Bellwood; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a sister, Iva M. Pennington of Hollidaysburg. She was preceded in death by a son, Rick; a granddaughter, Chelsie L. Thompson; three sisters, Dorothy Campbell, Bernice Glasgow and Dora Dolin; and four brothers, Albert, Lee, John B., Jr. and Wilmer. Phyllis was a 1948 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School and was a member of Bellwood Church of the Brethren. She retired as a nurse’s aide at Epworth Manor with 30 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1pm Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Bellwood Church of the Brethren, Rev. Paul Johnson officiating.
