Quentin Johnson Obituary

Quentin E. “Ken” Johnson, 94, formerly of Antis Township, died Monday evening at Valley View Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Philipsburg son of the late Fred G. and Lena R. (Dubbs) Johnson. He married Betty A. Bohn on January 27, 1939 in State College and she preceded him in death on December 18, 2001. Surviving are two sons: Larry E. of Antis Township and Dennis Q. of Tyrone; a daughter: Diane M. (Don) McClellan of Tipton: nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a brother: Marlyn Johnson of Dayton, NV; and a sister: Leatrice Davis of Hatfield. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Nancy L. Thompson; a daughter in law: Joanne E. Johnson; a granddaughter: Tammy E. Zimmerman; two brothers and three sisters Ken retired October 29, 1979 as a foreman/carpenter at Johnson Brothers Builders, Tipton after 19 years of service. He had also been employed as a machinist at Shutte & Koerting Co., Bristol. He was a charter member of the AFLCIO. Ken was a baseball fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, he enjoyed camping, traveling in his RV and feeding birds with his bird feeders. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Friends will be received from 6-8PM Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood where a funeral service will be held at 10AM Friday, December 20, 2013, the Rev. Arthur Shotts officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. The family suggests that contributions in Ken’s memory be made to a charity of individual choice.
