Richard H. Itinger, 86, Tyrone died early Monday morning October 15, 2018 at his home. He was born July 25, 1932 in Alexandria son of the late Fred and Eleanor (Porter) Itinger. On March 5, 1977 he married Nancy L. Snyder (Plummer) in Bellwood. Surviving are his wife; eight children, Mike (Tina) Plummer of Bellwood, Cindy (Paul) Adams of Altoona, Londa (Jeff) Wilson in North Carolina, Jeff (Melody) Plummer of Bellwood, Mary (Denny) Gardner of Tyrone, Vicky (Bruce) Plummer of Altoona, Lisa (Jim) McIntire of Altoona and Mike (Bertha) Itinger in Germany; two grandchildren who were raised in his home, Randi Berardi in North Carolina and Damien (Dana) Berardi of Altoona; 24 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren along with the 26th expectant great grandchild; one great- great granddaughter; a brother, Ed (Trudy)of Roaring Spring; and two sisters, Arlene (James H.) Page of Huntingdon and Kathy Oliver of Warminster. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy (Berardi) Reese; and a granddaughter, Amy Berardi. Richard served in the US Army from 1953-55 during the Korean Conflict. In 1967, he began his lifetime career of driving truck and delivery vehicles for various companies, retiring at age 62 from Cerro Metals, Bellefonte and in 2012, he retired from Wagner Trucking, Tyrone at the age of 80. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Tyrone and the American Legion Post #0945, Alexandria. He enjoyed being very social, remodeling and renovating his home and vegetable gardening. Friends will be received from 12 to 2pm Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Jon C Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 2pm Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
