Richard L. Lannen, 67, Tipton died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon June 27, 2018 at his home. He was born August 20, 1950 in Altoona son of the late Richard E. and Jolene G. (Taylor) Lannen. On November 6, 1993, he married Kaye Taylor in Erie. Surviving are his wife; his children, Richard (Crystal) Lannen of Fayetteville and Kathy (Mike) Rupert of Altoona; six grandchildren, Michael II and Renee Rupert, Delaynie and Liam McKinney, and Brady and Rylie Lannen; four great grandchildren, Mia, Savannah, Michael III and Carter; two sisters, Diane (Kenneth) Bartlebaugh of Tipton and Dixie Myers of Tyrone; a brother, Jim (Lisa) Lannen in Maryland; several nieces and nephews; and a special brother and sister in law, Craig and Lori Taylor of Riggles Gap. He was a 1968 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School and a US Navy veteran having served during the Vietnam Era. Richard retired as a boiler tender at the VA Hospital in Erie. He was a member of Tipton United Methodist Church. Richard enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie and also trout and steelhead fishing. He loved collecting coins and also enjoyed hunting, camping and spending family time on Taylor Mountain. Friends will be received from 6-8pm Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service, with military honors, will be held at 11am Monday, July 2, 2018 at the funeral home, Pastor Ken Patterson officiating.
