Robert Himes

Robert W. “Bob” Himes, 73, Antis Township, passed away Saturday afternoon. He was born in Antis Township son of the late Anthony C. and Dorothy A. (Briggs) Himes. On July 25, 1962 he married Rose Ann Wolfe in Cumberland, Md. Surviving are his wife of 55 years; a daughter, Crystal A. (James) Lozano of Upton, Mass.; three grandchildren, Mike, Stone and Fallon; two great grandchildren, Braden and Benson; eight brothers, Charles J. (Jill) of Akron, Ohio, Anthony L. “Pat” (Mary)of Altoona, Paul C. (Bernie), Richard E. (Connie) and William J. (Cindy) all of Antis Township, Dennis R. (Sue) of Cresson, and David G. and Ron L. (Debbie) both of Antis Township; two sisters, D. Darlene (Don) Curry of Manassas, Virginia and Sherry L. Merritts of Altoona; and a sister in law, Rose Ann Himes of Antis Township. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph L. He was a 1962 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School. Bob was a very hard worker and owned and operated RW Himes Excavating, Tyrone for 55 years and was formerly employed at VeederRoot, Duncansville for more than thirteen years. He attended Grace Bible Church, Hollidaysburg. Bob enjoyed farming, making hay, hunting and going to auctions. He enjoyed rides on his side by side ATV with his grandchildren, all of whom he loved very much. Friends will be received from 3-7pm Tuesday, October 24, 2017at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 7pm Tuesday at the funeral home, Pastor Lou Hileman officiating.
