Shirley O. Nearhoof April 28, 1929 – September 7, 2019 Shirley O. Nearhoof, 90, Antis Twp., went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday morning at Altoona Center for Nursing Care. She was born in Antis Twp. daughter of the late Rev. George Henry and Elma (Gilland) Ross. She married Donald E. Nearhoof on April 18, 1948 at Riggles Gap Bible Church. Surviving are her husband of 71 years; a son, Daryl L. (Laura) of Antis Twp.; two daughters, Linda A. (Ken) Myers of Bellwood and Patricia D. (Ken) Hollen of Grove City; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Ronnie; a sister Marilyn French; and a great grandson, Jakob Hood. She was a lifetime member of Riggles Gap Bible Church where she sang in the choir and was past Sunday School Secretary for many years. Shirley enjoyed housework and especially spending time with her family. Friends will be received from 4 to 7pm Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood, and from 10-11 am Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019 at Riggles Gap Bible Church. A funeral service will be held at 11am Wednesday at the church, Pastor William Ice officiating. Interment will be at Antis Cemetery. The family suggests that contributions in Shirley’s memory be made to Riggles Gap Bible Church or Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org.
