Shirley Holton

Shirley E. Holton, 79, Hollidaysburg, died Wednesday morning at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Roaring Spring daughter of the late Nelson C. Clapper and Eleanor M. (Moses) Gross. On Feb. 1, 1957 she married Ralph E. Holton, Sr. in Winchester, Va. Surviving are eight children, Deborah K. Spiecher of Hinesville, Georgia, Catherine A. Knisely of Tipton, Patricia L. Lauver of Altoona, Ralph E., Jr. of Hollidaysburg, Pamela J. Brazle of New Enterprise, Randy S. of Bear Creek, North Carolina, LaWanda S. Reed of Fairbanks, Alaska and Dawn M. Hetherington of Hollidaysburg; twenty one grandchildren; and nineteen great -grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, and twin children, Robert Lee and Roberta Lynn. Shirley retired Sept. 26, 2003 as a knitting machine operator at Warnaco Inc., Duncansville after 29 years of service. She was a former member of Mill Run Volunteer Fire Co. Woman’s Auxiliary. Shirley enjoyed word search puzzles, embroidery and canning. Her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren and having all her children happy was of the utmost importance to her. Friends will be received from 1-5pm Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 5pm Tuesday at the funeral home, Pastor Tim Allen officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona.
