Stephen Miller

Stephen Earl Miller, 51, Bellwood, formerly of Millville passed away tragically on February 9, 2019 while on a professional assignment in the mountains of Peru. Steve leaves behind his wife, Irina Aleksandrovna Miller, his daughter, Katerina, age 11 months and stepdaughter, Dasha, age 7. He was a loving husband and father who cherished his time with his family and his new role as a father. He was born August 21, 1967 in Altoona the youngest of five children of Boyd Glenn and Carol (Burns) Miller. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his parents of Bellwood; twin brothers, Doug (Melissa) and Scott (Trish) both of Bellwood; a sister, Marilyn (James) Peterson of State College; 10 nieces and nephews; a great nephew; 3 aunts and uncles; and his dear friend, and former spouse, Susan Miller of Bloomsburg. He was preceded in death by a brother, Byron. Steve grew up in Bellwood and upon graduation from Bellwood-Antis High School in 1985 he attended Penn State University. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology in 1990 and in 2001 he earned his Professional Engineer license. Steve worked tirelessly installing systems worldwide for Metso Minerals of York, and was proud of his ability to execute complex projects. He enjoyed travel to many countries during his working career, meeting his wife while working in Murmansk, Russia. They were married on Dec. 23, 2017 before moving to Bellwood in the Spring of 2018 to raise their family. Steve enjoyed his family and extended family, conversations with his dad, home improvement projects, as well as camping and collecting cars. He was always working on a project. Steve will be remembered for his sense of humor, and willingness and ability to wire anything for anyone. He had a love for his Irish Setters, his mother’s cooking and his aunt’s fudge. Steve will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 3p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, Pastor Drew McCaffery officiating. Inurnment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Canine Rescue of Central PA Dillsburg Animal Shelter P.O Box 129 Dillsburg, PA 17019
