Thomas Jackson Obituary

Thomas C. Jackson, 84, Antis Township, died early Thursday morning December 12, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness. He was born October 4, 1935 in Altoona, a son of the late Thomas J. and Pauline R. (Homan) Jackson. On April 23, 1955, he married Anna L. Moser at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellwood. Surviving are his beloved wife of 64 years; four children, Susan M. (Dean) Martin of Sinking Valley, Tom of Bellwood, Connie A. (Dr. Mark) Kleiner of Lynchburg, Va. and Michael J. (Faunice) of Falls Church, Va.; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Timothy H. (Pam) of Tyrone; and two sisters, D. Gayleen Barone of Delmont and Trudy J. McNeilis of South Carolina. Tom retired as a material foreman at Conrail, Altoona. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellwood where he served as an usher, Eucharistic minister and alter server. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Monsignor Edward O’Malley Council 8075, Bellwood, a member of Sinking Valley Country Club and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He was an avid golfer and he enjoyed woodworking, gardening and making wine from grapes grown in his own vineyard. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 pm Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood where a vigil for the deceased will also be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Monday, Dec. 16, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellwood. Committal will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township. The family suggests that contributions in Tom’s memory be made to Knights of Columbus, Monsignor Edward O’Malley Council, Bellwood, Pa.
