Velda C. McCoy, 100, Tyrone, died early Tuesday morning, July 8, 2014 at Epworth Manor, Tyrone. She was born on September 23, 1913 in Tyrone Forge daughter of the late Brincley H., Sr. and Elsie (Corbin) Miller. She married Fred O. McCoy January 1935 in Clearfield and he preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1994. Surviving are two sons, Fred K. “Ted” (Emily B.) McCoy of Alexandria, VA and Darl M. “Tim” (Jeanne L.) McCoy of Mills River, NC; 3 grandchildren, Thomas O. McCoy of Virginia, Kevin Bart McCoy and Bonnie Morris both of North Carolina; 3 great grandchildren, Ella McCoy of North Carolina, Michael McCoy of Virginia and Makaela Morris of North Carolina; a brother, L. Jay Miller of Bellwood; 4 sisters, Betty J. O’Donald of Philadelphia, Phyllis E. Conrad of Bellmeade, Nancy C. Wertz of Bellwood, and Esther S. Stone of Carlisle. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Kenneth Bradley McCoy; her step mother, Catherine Miller Ermin; 2 brothers, Brincley H., Jr. and George E. Miller. Velda was a life-long Methodist and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Tyrone. She was a volunteer worker at Epworth Manor, Tyrone for many years. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of her family with Rev. Jeanne L. McCoy officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. Arrangements are by Jon C.
