Virginia (Bettwy) Kimberly, 75, Antis Township passed away Thursday morning June 29, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family, after an extended illness. She was born April 28, 1942 in Altoona daughter of the late John C. and Dorothy L. (Rupert) Bettwy. On November 6, 1965 she married Jack E. Kimberly. Surviving are her husband; four daughters, Kelly M. (Dennis) Johnson of Alexandria, Kristine R. (Adam) Claar of Bellwood, Shauna L. Fiorentino of Cumberland, Md. and Dr. Kara E. Kimberly (Dr. Brandon Armstrong) of Hollidaysburg; proud grandmother of nine grandchildren, Rachael and Jack Johnson, Hannah Meghan and Nate Claar, Arianna and Enzo Fiorentino and Jacob and Luke Armstrong; three sisters, Michele (Pete) Stetter of Bellwood, Jackey (Raph) Voltz of Altoona and Tanya (Mike) Hoffer of Bellwood; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Anderson; and a brother in law, Joseph Anderson. Virginia was a 1960 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School. She retired as a supervisor at Bell Telephone-Verizon after 36 years of service and following her retirement she worked part time at Macy’s Department Store, Altoona. Virginia was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellwood where she served as an usher and assisted with funeral dinners. She was a member of Telecom Pioneers working to raise funds for a variety of charitable causes and also volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels. Virginia loved to travel, especially spending family summer vacations at the beach. She took great pride in her yard and flowers. Her greatest love was spending time with her family and being with her grandchildren. Friends will be received from 4-8pm Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc., Bellwood where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:30pm Monday, July 3, 2017at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellwood, Rev. Alan Thomas, celebrant. Committal will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Gin’s memory be made to Autism Speaks, Inc. 1 East 33rd ., 4th Floor, New York, NY 10016 or American Cancer Society Blair Unit 1004 N. Juniata Street Hollidaysburg, PA 16648
