William Hunter Obituary

William I. Hunter, 73, Grazierville died Sunday afternoon May 21, 2017 at Hillview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Altoona. He was born August 1, 1943 in Altoona son of Virginia R. (Parsons) and the late Robert R. Hunter. On May 24, 1967 he married Rebecca A. Noel in Cumberland, Md. Surviving are his beloved wife of 50 years; a son, William M. ( Sue ) of Frankstown; a daughter, Ginger (Mike) Hunter of Manheim; a grandson, Kristopher Sheasley of Tipton; his mother of Montrose; and a brother Richard (Jodye) of Altoona. He was preceded by death by a daughter Gretchen I. Sheasley in 2010 and a brother, Robert R. Bill was a graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School and a US Army veteran of the Vietnam Era. He retired as a truck driver at Bell Trucking, Shoemakersville during which he and his wife, Becky drove as a team for 15 years. Bill was a member of Altoona Bible Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, riding motorcycles, and watching television, Bill loved all animals, especially big dogs, he carried pet food along on his transport trips so he could feed stray animals. Friends will be received from 6-8pm Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 8pm Thursday at the funeral home, Pastor Jon Neely officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill’s memory may be made to his family.
