MaryLou Borza Obituary

On Saturday, May 16, 2020, MaryLou Wells Zorzi Borza, loving wife and mother of two, passed away at age 88. MaryLou was born on December 8, 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA to Charles and Leone (Schall) Wells. She graduated from Pittsburgh Vocational High School in 1949, joined the Air Force in 1950, served in Los Angeles, California and was honorably discharged in 1952. She married Louis “Lou” Zorzi in 1952 and they had a daughter and a son, Anita Leone Zorzi and Anthony “Tony” Louis Zorzi. They raised their family first in Paris, France, then Browns Mills, NJ, and Lawrence, PA, and later divorced. MaryLou married Alfred “Al” James Borza in 1978 and spent over 35 years living together in a charming yellow house on Greenwood Avenue in Bridgeville. These were peaceful, happy years full of gardening, swimming in their pool, family dinners, and spaghetti picnics. During this time, she operated a ceramics business out of her home and later worked as a florist at Shop and Save. MaryLou loved enjoying the pool with neighbors, family, and friends. To her grandchildren and other children who loved her she was fondly known as Pammy. The couple left their beloved yellow house in 2016 and moved to Country Meadows in Bridgeville, where MaryLou and Al’s dog, Nikki, became an overnight celebrity. MaryLou was preceded in death by her mother, Leone, her father, Charles, brother, Charles “Schultz”, and her son, Tony (Linda, deceased). She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Al Borza, devoted daughter Anita (Ronald) Foor, five grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Arrangements by Beinhauer-Fryer. With the current state of the world, MaryLou’s burial at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be private. Those who wish to support MaryLou’s family may visit www.beinhauer.com and “Light a Candle,” at no cost, anyone may submit a heartfelt message to the family. A Celebration of Life for MaryLou will be held at a later date. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Women’s Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh, https://donatewcspittsburgh.networkforgood.com/projects/85662-end-of-year-2019.
