John Maliszewski

John Marion "Janek" Maliszewski, 71, of Kresgeville, passed away on Saturday, September 23 in his home. He was the husband of Laura (Riso) Maliszewski. They had observed their 18th wedding anniversary in July. Born in Hanover, Germany, he was a son of Valerie (Badura) Maliszewski. John had worked for the New York Transit Authority in Brooklyn for twenty seven years before retiring in 2003. He was a member of the AFL-CIO Local 100 and the Transport Workers Union of Greater New York. John was a fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. He also loved Elvis Presley. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, John M. Maliszewski Jr. and his wife Karen of Brooklyn, NY; two sisters, Annie Bundarin and her husband Thomas of Tujunga, CA and Elizabeth Mertz of Kunkletown; three nephews, seven nieces, nine grand nephews and two grand nieces. No services are planned at this time. Cremation will take place in the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg. Memorial donations may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 237 E. Brown St., East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. The Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville is in charge of arrangements. www.kresgefuneralhome.com
