Ruby G. Taylor, 62, of Blakeslee, PA and formerly of Staten Island, NY passed away on Tuesday, September 5 in her home.
She was the wife of Darrell Taylor. Together for thirty eight years, they had celebrated their twenty second wedding anniversary in February.
Born in Chester, SC she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Emma (Price) Brice.
Ruby had worked as a cook at 46th & 10th, an assisted living home in New York City. Upon moving to PA she worked at Walmart in Mt. Pocono and for the Busy Bee Day Care in Blakeslee.
Ruby was the mother of all mothers. She was a foster mother and had an open door policy for anyone that needed help. She had also done volunteer work at some area shelters.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by six children, Yolanda Pryce, Walter Lewis Jr, Velesia Lewis, Crystal Ledbetter, Tiffany Taylor and Shon Davis; two brothers, Eugene and David Brice; a sister, Francis Moore and thirty one grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Shdell Lewis and two sisters, Dorothy Sterling & Ella Mae Tave.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, September 15 from the Berean Baptist Church, 1635 Bergen St., Brooklyn, NY. A viewing will be held on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service in the church. Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 16 in Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville, PA.
