Gregory Swartzlander Obituary

Gregory P. Swartzlander, 49, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away July 5, 2018, unexpectedly at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital. Born February 20, 1969, in Albion, Michigan. Gregory is the son of Phyllis (Daley) Swartzlander, and the late Robert P. Swartzlander. Gregory, a graduate of Cumberland Valley High School, Temple University, and Shippensburg University, served as Director of Digital Communications at Select Medical and President of the Public Relations Society of America, Central PA Chapter. He demonstrated passion for education, as an adjunct professor at Elizabethtown College and Assistant Marching Band Director at Cumberland Valley and Camp Hill. Gregory always enjoyed drum corps, Eagles, cinema, a good brew, and spending time with friends and family. In addition to his mother, Gregory is survived by his wife of 22 years, Christine (Riggle), of Mechanicsburg; son Conor; daughter Kira. He is also survived by his siblings, Lee McDonnell of Maryland, Stephen of Rhode Island and Laura of Carlisle. A celebration of Gregory’s life will be held Friday, July 13, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. in Slate Hill Mennonite Church, 1352 Slate Hill Rd, Camp Hill, PA 17011, with Pastor Joy Fasick officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
