Scott T. Thompson, 46 of Dillsburg, joined the church triumphant, Friday April 19, 2013 in Health South Rehabilitation Hospital, Mechanicsburg.
Born May 20, 1966 in Doylestown, PA, the son of Kathryn A. Hellyer Thompson and the late Thomas George Thompson.
Scott was a graduate of Central Bucks East High School and West Chester University. He was member of the First Presbyterian Church, Carlisle, where he was a deacon and was involved in Christian Youth Education. Scott was a Boy Scott leader, a volunteer with the Arthritis Foundation, a YMCA youth basketball coach, a Dillsburg youth baseball coach and a youth street hockey coach. He enjoyed everything outdoors; golf, fishing, hunting, family camping and he truly treasured his time at deer camp with his friends in Warren County. He loved all sports, especially hockey, which he played in high school and college.
Scott had a larger than life personality and was a great friend to many. His first love and devotion was to his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and son.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Heather Thompson of Dillsburg, his mother and her companion, James Cochran of Buckingham, PA, his step-mother, Mary Thompson, a son, Rebert Thompson, a daughter, Camryn Thompson, both at home, a brother-in-law, Anthony DiCredico and a nephew, Daniel DiCredico. He is preceded in death by his sister, Kristina Marie DiCredico.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 am Friday April 26, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church, 1 N. Hanover St. Carlisle, with the Rev. Jon Black officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be a viewing from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle.
