Joyce A. Brown, 79, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017, at her home. Born April 3, 1938, in Chambersburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late James N. and Ella F. Keyser Bender. Mrs. Brown was a 1956 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School. In addition to being a homemaker, she was also the receptionist at Dare’s Hairtique, for a number of years, retiring in 2014. Mrs. Brown enjoyed exercising at the Chambersburg Fitness Center. She was a member of the American Legion Post 46 Auxiliary, the Amvets Post 224 Auxiliary, the VFW and the Elks Club, all of Chambersburg. She is survived by her husband, William G. Brown, whom she married on August 24, 1958; one daughter, Dare McClure (husband Dennis) of Chambersburg; two grandchildren Ashley Brence Fuller (husband Steve), Chip Szczerba; two great grandchildren, Jaiden and Hally Szczerba; and sister Jean B. Wise (husband Max), all of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Brook Brown. Services and entombment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
