Delbert Billotte

Delbert F. Billotte, 76, of Frenchville died on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at his home. He was born on November 15, 1936 in Frenchville, a son of the late Boyd and Catherine (Picard) Billotte. Mr. Billotte graduated from Clearfield Area High School in 1955 and retired as the Parts Manager at Fred Diehl Chevrolet after 40 years of service. During retirement, he drove bus for RandA Bus Company. Mr. Billotte was an avid sports fan, particularly following the Clearfield Bison's, Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He even played baseball and softball until the age of 52. Mr. Billotte also enjoyed hunting; however, above all else, he will be remembered as a genuine and truly great man who had never a bad thing to say about anyone. He will be deeply missed. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Frenchville. He was also a member of the Mosquito Creek Sportsman Club as well as a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Leigey Renaud Post 8386, Frenchville. He is survived by his wife, Jane M. (Zimmerman) Billotte whom he wed April 4, 1959 in Snow Shoe; three children Gregory Billotte and wife Kathy of Frenchville, Dennis Billotte and wife Julie of Frenchville and Melissa McGonigal and husband Lee of Frenchville; seven grandchildren, Kalee Miller and husband Matt, Cody, Chelsea and Tyler Billotte, Cheree, Luke, and Mark McGonigal; and a sister, Bernadine Hahn and husband Harold of Philipsburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marcella Bradford. Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Frenchville on Wednesday at 11 AM with Rev. David A. Perry Jr. and Father Philip Billotte as celebrant. Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday from 5-8 PM.
