J. ALVIN GLENN, age 79 years of Conestoga, PA died at 10:17 a.m. on May 18, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of Joanne E. (Mathiot) Glenn who died on April 23, 1998. Mr. Glenn was born in Delta, PA on November 6, 1937 a son of the late Alvin Huber and N. Salome (Almoney) Glenn. He was a 1955 graduate of Lower Chanceford High School. Prior to his retirement in 2015, he was a farmer working for Star Rock Farms in Conestoga for 45 years. Among other skills, he was known for planting the straightest rows, lining them all up by eye. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, bowling, butchering, gardening, NASCAR and eating crabs. He is survived by five children: James Glenn of Lititz, PA Brenda Stambaugh, wife of the late Gerald of Lititz Brian Glenn and his wife, Leisa of Pequea, PA Mark Glenn and his wife, Tracey of Hershey, PA Bonni Bauman and her husband, Jay of Lancaster, PA Grandchildren: Jessica Lefever and her husband, John of Holtwood, PA Tyler Bauman and his fiancée, Janae Hoover of Conestoga Tanner Bauman of Lancaster Alexa Glenn of Hershey Step grandchildren: Corrie Walton and her husband, Keith Jody Garman and her husband, Dan James Lefever His sister, Phyllis McPherson of Huntley, IL Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 26 at 1:00 p.m. at the Salem United Methodist Church, 5042 Delta Road, Delta, PA 17314. Pastor Blake Deibler will officiate. The visitation will begin on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
