Keyoung Ja Gill, age 62, of Cumberland, MD, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at her home. Born in Seoul, Korea on October 9, 1952, she is the daughter of Boyd M. and Kim Keum Joon Gill of Fannettsburg, PA. Ms. Gill arrived in the United States with her mother and sister on October 1, 1956. She is a graduate of Fannett-Metal High School, Class of 1970, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business education in 1974 from the former Shippensburg State College, and her Master’s in 1976. She has earned various professional certificates from Marshall University, Frostburg University, West Virginia University, and Fairmont University throughout her career. She had been employed as a professor for 21 years at Allegany College of Maryland and as an educator for 17 years in the PA and WV State School. Ms. Gill enjoyed water coloring, playing the piano, and sketching. In addition to her parents, she is survived by four sisters, Keyoung Joon Gill, Keyoung Soon Gill, Keyoung Sue Gill McHale, and Keyoung Lee Gill; a brother, Keyoung Chee Gill; one niece, Aja; a grandniece, and three Aunts and one Uncle living in Seoul, Korea. A Private funeral service will be held at the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, Dry Run, PA, followed by a private burial at Reformed Church Cemetery, Fannettsburg, PA.
