Raymond Shoemaker

Raymond R. Shoemaker, age 76, of Ft. Loudon, PA passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the Fulton County Medical Center. Born in Chambersburg, PA on January 9, 1941, he was the son of the late William Roland and Catherine Edna Arnold Shoemaker. A 1959 graduate of the Fannett-Metal High School, Raymond went on to serve in the U.S. Army. He was Highway Project Engineer for a number of years, working all over the United States. He was a member of the American Legion Post 606 and Post 232 and the Moose Lodge. Raymond enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and travel. Surviving are three children, Carmen Baer of Chambersburg, PA, Nichole Shoemaker of AZ, and Rod R. Shoemaker of AZ; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Crissa Briggs and four siblings, Richard R. Shoemaker, Dorothy McFadden, Anne Truman, and Jackie Shoemaker. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017, at 1 PM at the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main St. Dry Run, PA, where Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neil will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Upper Path Valley Cemetery.
