Harold R. Bartholomew

<p>Harold R. Bartholomew, 85, husband of Dorothy M. (Graber) Bartholomew, of Zionsville, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Bethlehem. </p><p><br></p><p>Born November 12, 1930 in Upper Mildford Twp, he was the son of the late George and Mary (Erb) Bartholomew. </p><p><br></p><p>He attended Emmaus High School and worked for 20 years before retiring in 2010 from Lehigh Valley Turfgrass, 25 years at Superior Combustion in Emmaus and for 13 years at Eccolaire Company in Emmaus.</p><p><br></p><p>Harold served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Perry DD844.</p><p><br></p><p>He was a member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ in East Greenville, where he served as a deacon on the consistory for 4 years, and was a member of the Fellowship Bible Sunday School Class. </p><p><br></p><p>Harold was a member of the Upper Milford Western District Fire Co. in Zionsville and Citizen’s Fire Co. in Vera Cruz. </p><p><br></p><p>Surviving in addition to his wife of 60 years are two children, Renee A, Pecuch of Center Valley and Robin C. Bartholomew and wife, Susan of New Church, VA; son-in-laws, Thomas Pecuch of Coopersburg and Michael Caverly of Bethlehem; sister, Althea Feninez of Emmaus and seven grandsons, Sean, Curtis, Eric, Colin, Derek, Ryan and Alan and three great-grandchildren, Xavier, Ariana and Connor. He was predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl Caverly and siblings, Earl, Lloyd, Paul, Raymond, Allen, Robert and Donald Bartholomew and Pauline Hamscher, Betty Snyder and Helen Kehm and a grandson, Terry Fritz.</p><p><br></p><p>A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1010 Church Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Dr. Deborah Rahn Clemens officiating. Burial will follow in Zions Lutheran Cemetery, Old Zionsville. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 to 11a.m. Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA.
