Irene M. (Aranyosi) Fatebene, 87, of Bethlehem Twp., died Wednesday June 3, 2009 at the VNA of St. Luke's Hospice House in Lower Saucon Twp. Born in Bethlehem, April 3, 1922 to the late James and Margaret (Kish) Aranyosi and wife to the late Michael C. Fatebene. She attended Liberty H.S. and was a graduate of Bethlehem Business College. Irene was employed by the Bethlehem Steel Corp. in the Billing Department. Later, in the 1960's she was employed by Hess’s Dept. Store, Allentown in the men’s alteration department and continued her tailoring skills at The College Shop in Bethlehem. In 1969 she became the bookkeeper and Notary Public for the Bethlehem Township Board of Commissioners, from which she retired in 1984. She was a volunteer Gray Lady for St. Luke’s Hospital in the 1940s. She was a member of the former Our Lady of Pompeii R.C. Church and served as Treasurer of the Holy Rosary Sodality for 25 years until the Church’s closure in 2008, upon which time she joined Sacred Heart Church in Miller Heights. Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Frances Emig and her husband Donald of Warrington, PA, Marianne Fatebene , and Loretta Scurato and her husband Matthew, all of Bethlehem; 2 granddaughters, Valerie Emig and Dayna Gross, and one grandson, Brian Emig. Services: 10am Monday June 8, 2009 at Sacred Heart Church, 1817 1st St. Miller Heights, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9-10am in the church. The interment will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Memorials: In Irene's name, to the church. The arrangements are entrusted to Cantelmi Funeral Home, Fountain Hill.
