John Pristas, 91, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2010. Born on September 16, 1918 in Bitumen, PA , he was the son of the late Michael and Julia (Billetz) Pristas. His brothers Joseph, Michael, Andrew and Paul predeceased John. He served in the United States Army, Company D, 112th Infantry, 28th Division from April 1941 to August 1945. He was a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge. While serving his country, he received the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with four Bronze Stars. John was retired from the PB&NE Railroad. Survivors include Jane Denofa and her husband Tom, Ray Sabo and his wife Pat and Joe Sabo and his wife Donna along with Tom and Scott Denofa, Jeff and Ken Sabo and Steve and Matt Sabo. John's family would like to give a special expression of gratitude to the staff at Country Meadows for their care and friendship. Services: Panachida, 9:30am Saturday April 24, 2010 at Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway Fountain Hill, where the family will received relatives and friends from 9-9:30am.
