Stephen L. Pinter, 93, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully in his home, on Saturday, May 8, 2010. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Pongracz) Pinter who died in 2006. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Charles and Theresa (Zampar) Pinter. Stephen proudly served his country in the Army, while stationed in Panama and when WWII broke out, he also served in the Navy. He served aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard aircraft carrier on its maiden voyage. He worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corp., as a steelworker for many years until retiring. He was very active and enjoyed spending his time coaching and umpiring for the South Side Little League in Bethlehem. He was a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church, the Windish Hall and also the United Steelworkers of America. He will be lovingly remembered by his entire family. Survivors: son Stephen M. Pinter and his wife Donna; daughters Margaret McCarthy and her husband Joseph all of Bethlehem and Elizabeth Runge of Lancaster, Pa; grandchildren Michael, Suzanne, David, Mark, Lisa, Kate and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings Joseph Pinter, Helen Beres, Elizabeth Pinter (as a child), Frank Donchez, Mary Patrick, Charles Donchez and Ann Pongracz. Services: 10am Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday May 12, 2010 at Holy Infancy Church, 312 E. 4th St. Bethlehem. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 6:30-8pm and on Wednesday from 8:30-9:30am at Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway, Fountain Hill. Interment with military honors will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
