Anna I. McElroy, 88<br> Anna I. McElroy, of Wallingford, PA, died November 9, 2015. Born 1/21/27 in Darby, to Anna Harriet (Frick) and Lorenz B. Ivins, moved to Upper Darby and then to Broomall. Attended Marple Newtown High; served as class officer, yearbook editor and graduated Valedictorian. Majored in chemistry at Ursinus College; graduated Cum Laude. Worked at Sun Oil Co. in Marcus Hook as a chemist in the Research & Development Dept.<br> Married Samuel A. McElroy II, husband of 48 years, 6/20/51 at Trinity Episcopal Church, Swarthmore. Lived in Wilmington, DE, then Cleveland, OH, serving as president of the New Neighbors League of Cleveland and as a hospital volunteer. Moved to Wallingford, PA in 1961.<br> Mrs. McElroy served in the following groups for many years: Nether Providence Aux. of Riddle Memorial Hospital (President), Women’s Club of Nether Providence (President, Director), Colonial Club (President), Associated Auxiliaries of Riddle Memorial Hospital (President), Delaware County Federation of Women’s Clubs (Director, Secretary), Nether Providence Council of Republican Women (Corresp. Secy). She also served on the PTO Board of Wallingford Elementary and volunteered at Helen Kate Furness Free Library.<br> She enjoyed golf, bowling, crafts, needlework, flower arranging, bridge and reading.<br>Attitudes to living: Whatever you do, do it right. Don’t put off what needs doing – just do it! Don’t lie – just leads to more lies. Set a good example and others will follow. Be a leader; a contributor, not a taker; an asset, not a deterrent. Use your head and think!<br> Survived by: son, Scott McElroy (wife, Patti) of Darrington, WA; grandchildren, Colleen and Eric McElroy; daughter, Lysa McElroy of New Cumberland, PA. <br> Service: Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Remembrance on Friday, December 4th, 1:00 PM, at The Springhaven Club, 600 S Providence Rd, Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Helen Kate Furness Free Library, 100 N Providence Rd, Wallingford, PA 19086, would be appreciated by the family.<br>
