Anna Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John F.X. Morley, Sr. She is the daughter of the late Kathryn & Walter Brogan, and the sister of James Brogan, Margaret Elsner & Walter Brogan all who awaited her in heaven. Her beautiful life is memorialized through the lives of her children, Anne Marie (Hector) Chenelle, John F. X. (Eleanor) Morley, Jr. Esq., Michael J. Morley, II, CPA, Mary Kay Morley, Maureen Morley, Heleen (Edward) Hogan, Bridget (Williams Elliott) DiCave and Walter T. Anna Mae touched many lives through her endless dedication to her family, friends, church, work and community. Anna Mae was a long standing member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. Her devotion to the parish was exemplified in her volunteering to bring food to the home bound, teach CCD and drive parishioners to doctor appointments and shopping when they were unable. These voluntary activities all occurred after she retired at the age of 76. Well into her 80s she continued to provide support and comfort to those less fortunate than herself, often driving people in their 60s & 70s to appointments. Anna Mae was a women's movement pioneer. Her numerous and truly astounding accomplishments include, musical, community, employment, political and of course familial. She worked full time while raising 8 children and running a household. She attended Temple's School of Business. She was employed as the Township Manager's executive assistant in her beloved Ridley Township for 35 years. Anna Mae was a legal secretary for Cronin, Emuryan & Breen, for 2 years before being recruited to the Office of Employment and Training in Media, where she worked for 10 more years. In addition Anna Mae was a registrar and deputy registrar for the state of Pennsylvania for over 30 years. While working full time Anna Mae also was able to perform many civic functions including but not limited to being a member of the OLPH Home & School Association, Kedron Youth Association, Ridley Township Swim Club and establishing Ridley Farms Civic Association. Anna Mae's passion for politics led her to be a lifelong devotee to the Republican Party. Anna Mae was a member and past president of the Ridley Township Women's Republican Club, Township Committee Woman, 9th Ward Leader and was elected numerous times to the Pennsylvania Republican State Committee until she resigned at the young age of 90. Anna Mae was elected Secretary of the Ridley Township Planning Commission, by her fellow members. In recognition of her selfless work for the Republican Party, she was chosen as the "Delaware County Young Republicans" Republican of the Year on October 7, 1992. Mom was an avid bowler and as a member of the Ridley Lanes Women's Bowling League, she won many awards for high score and average and named her team the "Champagne Ladies". Anna Mae was the first female soloist for the Philadelphia Orchestra. On December 5, 1935 she performed a percussion solo, conducted by Leopold Stokowski, before an audience of more than 4000, which included, the mayor, governor and Monsignor Bonner as a few of the honored guests. After her performance the orchestra and the entire audience gave her a standing ovation and called her back to the stage for two curtain calls. Anna Mae's first and most important passion was the love of her family. Our mother was the most amazing woman we have ever met and has left an indelible mark on our souls. Anna Mae loved family, friends, dancing, a good drink, Republicans, laughter, family reunions, especially the Brogans, and sports, specifically her beloved Phillies. Mom always had a warm smile and a twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes whenever her family and friends were with her. Her grace, intelligence and kindness were perpetual and shared with everyone she met. With a wink of her eye she could ease your pain, share a secret moment, enjoy a joke, a sip of beer or show you her approval. Whether you called her Mom, Mother, Grand Mom, Mom Mom Mae, Aunt Anna Mae, Anna Mae, Mrs. Morley, Dutch or Mommy, you are a better person for having her in your life. To steal a few lines from the movie Brian's Song, we will remember our Mother for how she lived, how she TRULY LIVED! Friends may call Sunday from 6-8pm and Monday 10-10:30am at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church Funeral Mass will follow 10:30am, Monday morning visitation.
