Anna Moyer

Anna E. Moyer (nee Simon) age 92, passed away November 12, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in South Philadelphia, lived in Glenolden for 52 years, moved here in 1961. Beloved wife of the late Raymond B. Moyer Sr., dear mother of Raymond, Jr. “Bud” (Mandy), Judy Wilson (Jim), Dave (Sherry) and Nancy Owen (Ken), loving grandmother of 10, great grandmother of 14. She was a daughter of the late Samuel Simon and Harriet Clymer Simon. She was predeceased by siblings Harriet Myers, Katherine Burns and John Simon. She is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins. After graduating from South Philadelphia High School for girls in January 1939 she worked for the Curtis Publishing Co. She and Ray were married Nov. 15, 1943 while he was in the Air Force. He was honorably discharged in Dec 1945 after serving for 3 years he enlisted in Nov of 1942. After raising her children Ann worked for Bell of PA retiring in 1987 after 17 years. During her life she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, 18th & Wolf Sts, Philadelphia St. Andrews United Church of Christ, Philadelphia , and the Congregational Church of Glenolden, PA. Funeral Service Saturday 10:30 am Kevin M. Lyons Funeral Service 202 S. Chester Pk Glenolden, PA Visitation Saturday 9-10:30 AM Kevin M. Lyons Funeral Service 202 S. Chester Pk Glenolden, PA. Interment will be held at Edgewood Memorial Park following her mass. In Lieu of flowers, contributions to Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, 703 Lincoln Ave, Prospect Park, PA or Crozer- Keystone Hospice, 5030 State Road, suite 3001 Drexel Hill, PA, would be appreciated.
